The Knysna Mall has teamed up with Parket to implement a seamless solution to secured parking and we’re excited to share how it works. We have been receiving many enquiries about the system. The system is quite simple to use. Not much unlike any secure parking system you may have used before. Only better. Please consult the FAQs below
How do I use the Parking System?
Just drive in as per usual. The system reads your license plate registration, following which the boom will open, and a timer begins recording time spent at the centre.
Do I need to download a parking app?
No. The app is optional. But we highly recommend using it as it will make your shopping experience all the more convenient.
How do I pay for parking?
Your license plate is your ticket! There are two ways to pay with our new system.
For one, you can register on the Parket app, which will allow you drive in and out without paying on foot. Just enter your email, some other personal details, choose a password, provide your license plate registration, and preferred method of payment and you’re good to go. This also has the added benefit of granting you seamless access to dozens of parking lots nationwide.
Otherwise, you can make payment at kiosks conveniently located throughout the Mall. When you’re done shopping, simply visit any kiosk and enter your vehicle’s registration number. If a payment is required, you can easily tap your bank card or NFC enabled device on the point of sale device at the kiosk. You can then leave the centre simply by driving up to the boom, which will recognise your number plate, and open to let you leave. You get one hour of free parking! The screen will let you know whether a payment is needed or if you can head straight out. If you are certain that you have parked for less than one hour you can skip a visit to the kiosk altogether and just drive out.
Assuming you pay in the final minute of a given parking interval you have 15 minutes to exit the centre. If your time to exit runs over that time period, or you forget to pay at the kiosk, there is also a card payment option available at the exit boom.
Out of consideration for your fellow customers at the mall, please avoid falling into the habit of paying at the boom, as the time it takes for the payment at the boom to process and then open exceeds the time it would take for the boom to open if you drove up to it and if you had paid at the kiosk, or if you are registered on the app, and so paying at the boom will delay the time to exist of all customers queued behind you.
What if I have problems leaving?
Each boom is equipped with an intercom, so our on-site assistants are always just a button away if you need a hand. Our system also stays online during municipal power outages, ensuring smooth entry and exit at all times.
